Inspired by the news of the city’s 400 year anniversary of the famous canal district - I wanted to celebrate this. Just imagine the history and things the canals have witnessed over this time.
The idea was to create a luxurious, limited edition, authentic canal water bottle using symbols from Amsterdam for a unique story. The simplistic design was to contrast the ‘murky’ canal water on the inside (however, this was surprisingly clear!). The bottles were sourced locally from an equally old,
Jennever family business. The design was burnt into the bottle to help a premium, tactile feel. The canal water was filled by me, with a bike and some buckets!
Each bottle sold for 50 Euros, which was donated to ‘Join-the-pipe,’ a water related charity.
